US. Ambassadors describe the International Visitor Leadership Program as one of
the most effective foreign policy tools of American public diplomacy.

International Visitors represent varied social, economic, cultural and professional aspects of their societies and are chosen because of their achievements.  They come from both private and public sectors, including government, business, law, medicine, media, education, science, labor relations, women’s empowerment and many other fields of activity.  Since the inception of the International Visitor Leadership Program in 1961, more than 135,000 visitors have come to the United States.
